The Chalange

Managing a distributed network of 200+ sellers presented immense technical and operational hurdles. The primary challenge was data synchronization: maintaining consistent inventory levels and product descriptions across the parent store and individual seller stores without manual intervention. Additionally, the client needed a sophisticated financial engine to handle cross-border payments, automated invoicing, and complex tax compliance—specifically for international clients where standard Shopify features hit limitations.

Furthermore, the scale of operations (20,000+ SKUs and high-volume transactions) meant that manual customer support and accounting were no longer viable. The client required a bespoke automated system that could manage intricate discount distribution logic, provide detailed seller-specific reporting, and deploy an intelligent AI chatbot to handle merchant inquiries, all while operating outside the constraints of Shopify Plus.

Amrita Infovision (AIV) architected a custom-built, headless-compatible marketplace middleware that acts as the “source of truth” for the entire ecosystem.

  1. Unified Sync Engine: We developed a proprietary synchronization engine that utilizes the Shopify API to manage the product lifecycle. Once a product is approved in the central marketplace, our system automatically pushes updates to the respective seller’s Shopify store, ensuring inventory is perfectly aligned in real-time, preventing overselling.
  2. Custom Financial & Accounting Automation: We built a bespoke invoicing and payment module. This engine automatically generates invoices tailored to the client’s location (including international requirements), manages commission structures, and handles the distribution logic for discounts. The system integrates directly with accounting software to provide real-time financial reporting for both the parent brand and the individual sellers.

  3. AI-Driven Seller Support: To scale support without increasing headcount, we implemented an AI chatbot trained on the brand’s specific business logic. The bot provides instant, 24/7 assistance to sellers regarding invoice status, payment queries, and platform onboarding, even for international merchants with unique tax and compliance needs.

     

  4. Complex Logic & Reporting: We engineered a custom dashboard that supports the brand’s unique “Discount & Distribution” algorithms. This allows the parent brand to manage complex promotional campaigns across 200+ stores simultaneously, with automated email reporting delivered to sellers at the close of every business day.
